Before that we had an art compition where we could draw anything about space. I came first in the compition. It is the one with a black backround. Here is my space art. Next steps: to make Jupiter more realistic.

Art T2
This term for art we did pictures about space. We practiced shading. Here is some of our work.

Earth to Jupiter
Task: write a set of instructions on how to get from Earth to a planet of your choice.
WALT:
- a chosen planet’s location in the solar system.
- a chosen planet’s distance from earth.
- planets you will pass by to get to the chosen planet.
- obstacles that may be on the journey, e.g. Atmosphere, moons...I was an expert.
I always communicate about my Inquiry learning.
Next time I need to present my thinking in a different way.
Writing reports
We had to write a scientific report about space and which planet was the best. I chose Saturn as I thought Saturn was the best. Here is the report.
WHY SATURN IS THE BEST
Scientists say the solar system has its own amazing, unique things and planets. But some want to know what planet is the best. Imagine if you could adapt to any planet. Which one would you choose? This will inform you why Saturn is the best.
Saturn is the best planet because it has a thick force field of rocks, dust and ice (rings). It has an atmosphere of gases e.g hydrogen, helium, ammonia and methane. Saturn is not very dense; Saturn could float in a bathtub if there was a big enough bathtub for Saturn. Saturn is a gas giant. It is the second biggest planet in the solar system. You will have lots of room to explore and have bigger properties and gardens. The only bad thing about Saturn is that it has storms about three quarters the size of Earth.
MERCURY
Mercury does not have an atmosphere. It is very small; two moons are bigger than Mercury. It ranges from very hot to very cold. Mercury gets scorched by the sun. That is why Mercury is not the best planet.
VENUS
Venus is very hot and has an atmosphere of CO2. Mr Sparks says “ the longest time a spacecraft has lasted on Venus is twelve minutes and the rocks are gooey.” Venus is the hottest planet. Venus has no moons and it is all orange. That is why Venus is not the best planet.
EARTH
Earth, well our own planet, wouldn’t we be a bit bored of it, wouldn't it be a bit plain? Earth only has one moon and is blue and green. Officially Earth doesn't count in this vote because we all know Earth is the best planet.
MARS
Mars has big sand storms and is the second smallest planet. It has two moons and is a plain redy-brown. Mars has four main volcanos that might erupt. That is why Mars is not the best planet.
JUPITER
Jupiter is too big. It smells like rotten eggs. Jupiter has huge storms. Jupiter has thin rings and sixty seven moons ( possibly more). That is why Jupiter is not the best planet.
URANUS
Uranus is cold and gets made fun of. Uranus is light blue. Uranus has twenty seven moons. That is why Uranus is not the best planet.
NEPTUNE
Neptune is dark blue and very cloudy. Neptune also has storms; one named the big blue spot. Neptune is the smallest gas giant and only has fourteen moons. Neptune has thin rings. That is why Neptune is not the best planet.
Therefore Saturn is the best planet. All the features are in the right place ( apart from the storm). Go Saturn!

Maths nets
Walt construct a net to hold a set volume. 1\8 was three cubes. We had to times three by eight which equals 24. My net was not to scale but it was proportion. Here is my net.

Poetry T2
Before we opted into work shops we went out side to look at leaves. The seniors went onto the field and found a leaf to study. We smelt the air, listened to the birds, touched the leaves and looked at the scenery. Next we chose our work shops. There was a choice out of poetry, factual or weather reports. I chose poetry because I like writing poems and I wanted to get better. Most people chose poetry. The first day of work shops we had to brainstorm as many words to do with Autumn as we could. After that we started writing poems. We had to write rhyming poems. Finally we wrote the poem that we would publish with our art. We had to edit and rewrite parts of our final poem to make it perfect. Once we finished we got to go outside and take a photo of something to do with Autumn. I took a photo of a ruined leaf and sketched it. Here is my poem and leaf.
