During the second week of the school holidays my sister and I went to stay at my grandparents for a whole week because my mum and dad were both working. My grandparents lived right next to Guthrie park so I was happy to be away from home.
We had finally arrived. Cinnamon and raisin muffins wafted into the lounge. I could hear my grandad fixing things in his room. At last the muffins came out of the oven. They were caramel brown and looked tasty.
My grandma said in a cheerful voice “the muffins are still quite hot but wait a few minutes and the muffins will be fine.” A few minutes later I got a muffin. I went and split a muffin in half. The muffins were spongy; also mouthwatering. I bit into a muffin, it was delicious.
When Alice arrived mum was well gone. Sophie questioned “do you want to go to the park?” “Yes” said Alice. Then we went to the park. At the park we played on the swings. There were only two swings so Sophie ran close to the swings trying to miss them while Alice and I swung on the swings. After an hour it got dark so we ran home.
We had a tasty dinner of wraps and onion soup. At nine pm we went to bed. At about ten pm my grandparents went to bed. At that time we were still away; my sister and Alice talking loudly about boys until Sophie begged to play subway surf. By the time Sophie stopped playing it was twelve thirty. Finally we went to sleep.
